Follow your idols online and in real life

03-01-2022

Most k-pop fans follow their idols online and on social media, they also follow live moments. The groups also sometimes organize sign  days and of course concerts...

Online:

Youtube: As you probably already know, Youtube is the ideal platform for posting videos and is also used by various K-pop Groups to post their video clips, video shows etc. Most K-pop groups have their own account and some idols also have their personal account for their solo songs ect. to place. Videos are also posted on YouTube by the fans themselves, so you can follow the other fans as well.

Spotify and Youtube music: Spotify and Youtube music are somewhat similar to each other.. the main difference is that Youtube music is a more specific version of youtube meant for just the music videos. You can listen to music and create and listen to your own playlists on both platforms (Spotify and Youtube music). You can also listen to others' playlists and follow your K-pop idols.

V live: V live is an app that is very commonly used among the k-pop idols and their fans. Live streams are held on this app where fans can also leave comments. If you missed the livestream, you can easily watch it again, but you can no longer leave comments. Regular videos are also often posted on V live, as well as things such as announcements for signing moments and concerts.

Twitter: Twitter was the platform for most idols to communicate with their fans before instagram. The idols are still on twitter but since BTS created their instagram accounts instagram is a more used app among the fans.

Instagram: After BTS recently created their own instagram account, it has become very popular among the Army's. Most k-pop idols post some pictures on instagram to tell the fans what the idols are up to. They also post pictures for each other's birthdays.

Weverse: perhaps this is even the best known and most used app among the army's and Blinks. Weverse is a social media platform where you can post things about your idols and about yourself. The idols also have an account on this app and they can also inform the fans about their daily life. The idols can also respond to the fans' posts here. You can also communicate with the other fans yourself by leaving a comment in the comment box and making new friends.

Real life:

Signing days: On these days, the k-pop idols receive their fans to sign their albums or other stuff or have a short conversation with fans. Unfortunately, this is usually not possible for international fans. On Vlive it is also usually announced when the idols hold a signing day.

Concerts: The concerts of the k-pop idols are a bit different from those of the western singers. During the concert, the idols sing and dance at the same time. The fans (who were able to get a ticket) usually take their lightstick with them or buy one and sometimes also gifts for their idols that they can give when they sit somewhere in the front row.
